A complete connection with nature which for some is still a taboo topic, but still a large number of people enjoy this activity!

Naturism (FKK) is a lifestyle of non-sexual social nudity and the cultural movement which advocates for and defends that lifestyle. Both may also be referred to as nudism.

The real boom in naturist holidays in Croatia started in the 1960s when many naturist camps and facilities were opened in Istria and Dalmatia. In that period, over 100,000 holidaymakers enjoyed these holidays annually. At present, this type of holiday in Croatia is not as popular as it once was due to competition from other European countries in which similar facilities have been created. Nevertheless, thousands and thousands of naturists still come to Croatia to enjoy the beautiful countryside and coastline on a peaceful holiday.

Camps and beaches

A camp can be one of your choices for enjoying yourself without clothes! There are 17 official naturist camps in Croatia. It’s possible to get rental accommodation like mobile homes, bungalows or apartments as well. So, if you’re travelling during the summer months, make sure to book your rental accommodation in time because Croatia is a very famous tourist destination and there aren’t too many options for naturists.

Naturist beaches in Croatia are centred near the Adriatic coast and on the islands. Also, most naturist resorts on the mainland can be found on the Istria peninsula in the country’s west. Naturist camps and beaches are often signalled with “FKK”, which means FreiKörperkultur, German for “free body culture”. The Croats have inherited this term from Germany, and it’s still very commonly used.
