Although our Adriatic coast is more famous for rocky and pebbled beaches, finding a sandy beach in Croatia isn’t that difficult as you may think!

The rough cliffs, tiny pebbles and deepest shade of blue make the Adriatic a wonder to behold, but sometimes you just want to feel warm sand beneath your feet. If that’s the case for you, you’ve probably already seen our list of best sandy beaches in Croatia and maybe even visited the white sand beach Saharun on Dugi Otok. Well, then it’s time to meet other beaches with sand in Croatia — those located on the island of Pag!

Sandy beaches are great for many reasons — they provide a beautiful and relaxing setting for vacations and are perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and playing in the sand. Sandy beaches also tend to have fewer rocks and shells than other types of beaches, making them more comfortable to walk on. If you’re looking for a stunning sandy beach to visit, Pag Island in Croatia is a great option. This Croatian island is home to some of the best sandy beaches in the country.

Pirka

This sandy-pebbled gem is located near the city of Pag, and it’s pretty easy to find — but beware, once you come, you’ll find it hard to leave! The clear blue Adriatic Sea is as pretty on Pirka as it is on any other spot on the island, but the absence of bars and beachside restaurants make it noticeably calmer than other places on Pag.

This Pag sandy beach feels quiet and relaxing compared to the more crowded beaches on the island of Pag. There are plenty of parking spots and you won’t have trouble finding a spot on the main road just above the beach. Around one hundred meters south there is a stone staircase that will take you down to the beach, as well as offer stunning views and a perfect photo opportunity.

Golden

The Golden beach is the heart of Camping Village Šimuni and serves as the centre stage of the many events organized for visitors of the camp. The beautiful Pag sandy beach has an aquapark and a kids club, and while the youngsters have their fun, parents can enjoy sipping cocktails in the café bar Suncokret or have a relaxing massage.

The wide range of services and activities available at this Pag beach make it the perfect place to spend a day, whether you want to relax or have some fun. There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols for those who want to work on their tan, and the Aquapark is perfect for cooling off. When it comes to food and drink, there’s something for everyone at the Golden beach café bar Suncokret. You can enjoy refreshing drinks as you soak up the atmosphere, or try one of the delicious snacks on offer.

Planjka

Meet one of the best sandy beaches in Croatia! Known also under the name “Trinćel”, Planjka beach is located near Stara Novalja, a charming village in the north-eastern part of the island of Pag. It was named the most beautiful beach in Croatia in the year 2006, and it has a great range of facilities and fun activities that make it ideal for families with children. The shallow water is perfect for small children, the beach is super clean and well-kept and the water quality is also superior.

For parents, definitely try out the cocktails on the platform overlooking the beach! You can find parking nearby or come during off hours without any problem since it does get crowded sometimes. You can also rent bikes and electric scooters at the beach as well as eat at a restaurant and use the bathroom.

Čista

This gorgeous sandy beach located about 5 kilometres from Novalja absolutely deserves its name (čista means “clean” in Croatian). The long stretch of sand that crowns the mesmerising blue Adriatic gives swimmers a chance to get a nice tan and, since there is a restaurant on the beach, even enjoy a nice meal.

The beach is clean and calm, a perfect place to spend the day. There are many shades provided in the form of parasols, so you can enjoy the sunshine without too much bother. The toilets are also very clean and there are a few bars nearby if you want to get a drink or something to eat. If you’re a family with children, they will definitely have a field day, as the beach offers pedal boats, swings and plenty of equipment for their next sandcastle project.

Urša

Small secluded beaches offer a level of privacy that you won’t find at larger beaches. You can sunbathe, swim, and relax without having to worry about being seen by others. Additionally, these beaches tend to be much less crowded than their more popular counterparts. This means you can enjoy the peace and quiet of nature without having to fight for a spot on the sand. Finally, small secluded beaches often have stunning views that you won’t find at busier beaches. So if you’re looking for a beautiful and tranquil setting to enjoy your next beach day, be sure to seek out Urša.

There are absolutely no restaurants, cafés or any other sort of establishment on this tiny secluded beach in Croatia — and that’s exactly why you should visit it! Even during the summer, the beach never gets too crowded, which is perfect for those looking for an oasis of peace and quiet with plenty of trees to give shade from the strong summer sun.

Now that you know which beaches to visit on the magical island of Pag, all that’s left is to pack your bags and prepare for hot, sunny days laying on the sand and swimming in the crystal blue sea.
